Bike to Work Day

If you haven’t heard already, this Friday is Bike to Work Day!

Ibex Bike

Here at IBEX Herdquarters, we’ve been busy preparing for another great pit stop event. From 6:30 – 9:00 am, we’ll be serving up a pancake and waffle breakfast with fruit and drinks, to help you wake up on your bike ride to work. Not only that, but we’ll have games, music, and prizes, so be sure to come check it out!

Judging by the number of bikes outside IBEX today, I think it’s safe to say the excitement is building…

If you haven’t already registered, you can either sign up on the Bike to Work Day website, or when you visit our pit stop. By signing up, you show your support for cycling in the city and embracing greener forms of transportation. Assiniboine Credit Union will also donate $0.25 to the Winnipeg Repair Education and Cycling Hub (WRENCH) with every registration. Finally, there’s a BBQ at the Forks starting at 3:30 pm for registrants.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at our pit stop this year!

IBEX Payroll extends our profound respect and immeasurable gratitude to all the ancestors and keepers of the land on whose traditional territories our work takes place. We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the traditional homeland of the Métis people. This land is sacred, historical, and significant.

Every time we acknowledge this truth, we have an invitation and an opportunity to reflect on the wrongs of the past, what we do in the present, and what we can do to continually honour the people whose lands and water we benefit from today.

This statement only acts as a first step in honouring the land we reside on and its peoples, and must be paired with education, understanding and informed action.
